Shipping Update: US Orders Temporarily Suspended
We wanted to give you an important update about our shipping services to the United States and Puerto Rico.
As of 26 August 2025, Australia Post has temporarily suspended parcel deliveries to the U.S. and Puerto Rico following major changes to U.S. import rules. Unfortunately, this means that Service Parts Online cannot currently ship orders to the U.S. until further notice.
What’s Changed?
The U.S. Government has introduced new requirements under Executive Order 14324, which are being enforced by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The key changes include:
-
The end of the de minimis rule – the previous USD $800 duty-free threshold has been removed.
-
Mandatory customs declarations for all parcels.
-
Duties and taxes must be collected and paid before parcels leave Australia.
This marks a significant shift. For years, smaller orders could clear U.S. customs without added costs, but now every parcel will need to have taxes and duties prepaid.
How This Affects Service Parts Online
Because Australia Post cannot yet process these new prepaid duties, they (along with other postal operators worldwide) have paused parcels to the U.S. We have no choice but to follow suit.
What this means for you:
-
We cannot currently ship auto parts orders to the U.S. or Puerto Rico.
-
Once Australia Post and partners like Zonos implement a solution, we will be able to restart U.S. shipping, but it will involve collecting duties and taxes from customers upfront at checkout.
What’s Next?
We are closely monitoring the situation and preparing for changes to our checkout process. In the near future, U.S. customers will be required to pay duties and taxes at the time of purchase.
Shipping will resume once Australia Post re-enables parcel services and a compliant process is in place. We will publish an update on our website and social channels as soon as we have a confirmed timeline.
Final Thoughts
We understand this may cause inconvenience for our U.S. customers who rely on us for parts. While these changes are beyond our control, we are committed to adapting quickly and keeping you informed every step of the way.
